A New Name for a Long Time Clark County Facility, Part 1

-The facility formerly known as the Clark County Health Care Center has taken on a new name: The Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center.Executive Director Jane Schmitz and Admissions Coordinator Jenna Thieme said this is not the first time the facility has received a new name, but with a recent change of address, representatives from the facility thought now would be a good time to change the name to better reflect the services that the facility offers.
Jane said, "Probably about a year ago, discussions started that we needed to make an address change because our address has always been on Highway 29. Actually, we're on the Frontage Road, so that address really is not accurate. And then when you put it in GPS Systems it doesn't show up for people to find us."
"So we were contacted by the Planning and Zoning Office asking if we would consider changing our address. So when that happened that lead us to thing about, if we're going to change our address and we have to change our documents anyway, perhaps this may be a good time to make a name change and update the name of the facility as long as we were going to be changing other documents anyway."
"With that, the conversations started first it was at the sub-committee level and that's the committee that oversees the health care center. We had conversations about, do we want to change our name and what effect would that have? As the discussions progressed, it was decided that changing the name was a good thing. It would give us a new image, if you will. Health care is changing and we felt that change in the name being more current with what we actually do here at the facility."
"A decision was made that, yes, we're going to change the name. It took us several months and processes to decide what will that name be. After several discussions and several votes from voting members, it was decided we would become Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center."
