-The Clark County 4-H has already been involved in some great events with plenty more on the horizon.Chris Hollar, Clark County's 4-H Youth Development Agent, talked about some of the things the individual groups do.
Chris said, "Each club does different things or many of them like to do some spring community service projects. So, they do things in their communities which is just fantastic. They do things like rake leaves or clean out a garden space in front of a bank or a post office, things like that. Just a great group and I have to give lots of kudos to the parents because we don't have the kids without the parents and I hope we can continue that and have more people join us."
She also explained how kids can join 4-H.
"They can call our office," Chris said. "They can go online and check out our website, but it's really easy to just give our office a call and that number is 715-743-5121. We can get them set up or try and find them the right club because there are 18 clubs in Clark County. And some of the clubs have different focuses. Some might be more dairy, some might be more rabbits, some might be more crafts, some might be more drama. So, again you want to try and attend one in your area so you don't have to go to far, but again you're connected with will make a difference if they have cousins or something in a specific club."
"That's no big deal and people hop from club to club. But, call the office and get some information for what's around there area. A lot of our stuff now is online so it's fairly easy, but we also know that there are still a lot of folks that don't have computers at home and we want to work with them too."
One again, if you know of a child that would like to join 4-H you can call the Clark County UW-Extension Office.
