Marshfield Man Charged in Packers Ticekt Scam Pleads Not Guilty

-A Marshfield man that scammed 15 people out of about $46,000 involving Green Bay Packers tickets appeared in Wood County Court on Thursday.Patrick Blachut was arrested after he offered to sell people Packers tickets at businesses in Marshfield and Wisconsin Rapids. By the time he was arrested, most of the victims' money was gone as Blachut lost it gambling, had given it to family and paid some bills.
The victims lived in Auburndale, Chippewa Falls, Fond du Lac, Marshfield, Plover, Wausau and Wisconsin Rapids and some of them spent over $6,000 on what they thought were season tickets. The scam began to unravel after the people went to Lambeau Field to get the tickets and there were none.
During a preliminary hearing on Thursday, probable cause was found against Blachut so his court proceedings will continue. He also pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. He has a $10,000 signature bond set against him he's been charged with 7 counts of theft by false representation and 8 counts of misdemeanor theft. He's also facing similar charges in Eau Claire County for the same scam.
