One Person Killed in Two Vehicle Crash Near Pittsville

-The Wood County Sheriff's Department responded to a two vehicle crash in the Town of Wood on Wednesday.The crash occurred around 7:30am on County Highway A just north of Pittsville. One driver, 18-year-old Kayla Ignatowski a Pittsville High School senior was killed in the accident. The second driver, 29-year-old Amanda Simonson, was trapped in her vehicle and required extrication. She was then taken to the hospital. Both drivers were alone and no one else was involved in the crash.
The accident was a head on accident. As the two drivers were negotiating the curve south of Sunset Road, Ignatowski's vehicle crossed the center line and struck Simonson's. Weather and road conditions are not considered factors in the crash. Ignatowski was not wearing here seatbelt and Simonson was. The Pittsville Fire and EMS, Pittsville Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and Spirit Ground also responded to the scene.
