Owen City Council Hears Questions and Sewer Project Schedule

The Owen City Council had a lengthy discussion about several different items during the public opinion portion of the meeting.A resident said she liked the idea of the Police Department purchasing the radios and medical equipment, however, she was concerned about the patrol rifle. Owen Police Chief Andrew Schade explained they only have 1 rifle now and having 2 would be more efficient for training purposes. The resident asked the caliber of the rifle and Schade said it was a 223.
Mike Voss, of MSA Professional Services, presented a project schedule for the E. 4th Street Sewer and Water main replacement and the Upgrade to Lift Station #1. Grant applications are due May 22nd and Mr. Voss feels Owen has a good chance of getting grant money.
