La Crosse Man Accused of Hitting and Killing a Tow Truck Operator Near Osseo Pleads Not Guilty

Friday, March 20th, 2015 -- 10:43 AM

-A La Crosse man charged for hitting and killing a tow truck operator on I-94 near Osseo appeared in Jackson County Court on Thursday.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, 38-year-old Nathan Walsh of Osseo was struck and killed 5 miles east of Osseo while he was removing a disabled vehicle from the interstate. He was struck by a passing pickup truck driven by Steven Dolan.

The State Patrol said that the tow truck was parked on the right shoulder in front of the disabled car, it had its emergency lights on and Walsh was wearing a reflective vest when he was hit. Lifesaving procedures were attempted by responding officers, but Walsh died on scene.

Dolan has been charged with negligent homicide and insists that he never saw the tow truck or driver. He was released on a signature bond and he pleaded not guilty to the charges on Thursday.
