Damage Estimates for Fire at a Black River Falls Construction Company Released

-Damage estimates have been released for the fire at a Black River Falls construction company.The fire happened early in the morning at the end of February at Lunda Construction Company on Gebhardt Road in the Town of Brockway. The fire started in the mechanical shop and it was caused by a fuel transfer operation.
Crews were able to contain the fire in the mechanical shop and one employee, 30-year-old Joseph Kopp of Neillsville, was taken to the hospital for burns, but his injuries were non-life threatening. Most of the employees were arriving for work that day when the fire broke out.
The damage is estimated at $2.7 million, $1.5 million in structural damage and $1.2 million in contents.
