Scholarships Discussed at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard about the Academic Excellence and TES Scholarship recipients at their recent meeting.District Administrator Bob Houts notified the board that Malinda Miller is this year's recipient of the Academic Excellence Scholarship provided by the state for students planning to attend a four-year college in Wisconsin. Kelsey Niemi will be the first recipient for the district of the TES, or Technical Education Scholarship provided by the state for students attending a 2 year technical college. Malinda will be attending UW-Madison in the fall, while Kelsey will be attending Chippewa Valley Technical College.
Also, one student has completed the paperwork to request courses next fall under the Youth Options program. This student has applied for 12 credits at UW-Marshfield/Wood County. The board unanimously approved this request.
Finally, the board accepted the resignation of Belinda Stratton who had served as an assistant track coach. The board thanked Belinda for her service to the athletes of Owen-Withee.
