Technology Presentation at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard a presentation to start their meeting earlier this week.District Technology Director, Julie Kodl, made a presentation to the board regarding the expiration of the current three year technology lease for our 1:1 program. The data from a survey of students and staff regarding what worked and what didn't over the past three years and what kind of improvement could be made for the future of the program was presented.
Ms. Kodl also presented a device, an HP Stream, which is the preferred device for use in grades 7-10. Finally, Ms Kodl presented the proposed lease/purchase for the next three years which included replacing the iPads in grades 5 & 6, purchasing HP Streams for grades 7-10 and purchasing laptops for grades 11 & 12.
Current devices, iPads and HP laptops, will be purchased for $1 each and repurposed throughout the district. The Netbooks, some of which are 10 years old and not purchased in the last lease, will be disposed of properly.
