-A suspected weapons dealer from Stratford was sentenced in Marathon County Court on Thursday.According to authorities, at the beginning of 2014 they received a tip that Tyler Perkins had been selling weapons. An inmate in a Michigan jail told authorities that he bought weapons from Perkins. As authorities executed a search warrant on Perkins' home, they discovered six loaded weapons, meth, marijuana and THC.
Perkins was found guilty, due to a no contest plea, of possession of methamphetamine, possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to produce methamphetamine was dismissed and read in. Perkins initially had several weapons charges filed against him, but they were dismissed during a motion hearing because the state couldn't proceed on them as they are part of a federal case.
Perkins was sentenced to 2 years and 30 days in jail. He must also pay all court costs.
