Greenwood Man Sentenced for Sexual Assault of a Child

-A Greenwood man was sentenced for 2nd degree sexual assault of a child on Thursday.According to the criminal complaint, in April of 2014, Ehrin Scott entered the bedroom of the 14-year-old victim and had intercourse with the individual. Scott apparently lived in the residence with the parents of the victim. When called into the Greenwood Police Department, Scott admitted to an officer that he had sex with the victim and he was placed under arrest. However, it was stated during the hearing today, the Scott doesn't believe this incident happened and that the victim is lying. It was also stated that Scott does have impaired mental faculties.
Scott pleaded guilty to the charge back in December. The assistant district attorney asked for 3 years in prison and 10 years extended supervision. The defense asked for 1 year in prison and 8 years extended supervision. In the end, the judge agreed with the prosecutor and sentenced him to the 3 years in and 10 years supervised. Scott is also not allowed to have contact with the victim, must comply with the sex offender assessment and registry programs and can't consume alcohol.
