-Investigators have determined the cause of a fire at a Black River Falls construction company. The fire happened around 5:30am early Thursday morning of last week at Lunda Construction Company on Gebhardt Road in the Town of Brockway. The fire started in the mechanical shop and it was caused by a fuel transfer operation.
Crews were able to contain the fire in the mechanical shop and one employee, 30-year-old Joseph Kopp of Neillsville, was taken to the hospital for burns, but his injuries were non-life threatening. Most of the employees were arriving for work that day when the fire broke out.
The damage estimate still isn't known at this time, but when all the elements are factored in, the loss is expected to be expensive.
