Clark County Emergency Management Reminds Residents that Winter Isn't Over Yet

Wednesday, February 25th, 2015 -- 10:17 AM

-Even though the calendar will soon flip over to March, this week and last week is proof that winter in Wisconsin is not over yet.

With the recent bitter cold, and more opportunities for snow likely, the Clark County Emergency Management Department wants everyone to remain ready for the hazards we face. Winter weather can be extremely dangerous and even deadly.

Driving can become hazardous quickly and drivers must use caution when driving in these conditions. It is recommended to carry an emergency supply kit in your vehicle. In your home make sure that exhaust vents for furnaces are clear of snow and ice. Also, be sure your home has a carbon monoxide detector and that it is working properly.

Check on elderly neighbors or those with special needs, keep pets and livestock protected from the elements, having a NOAA All Hazards Radio is a great first step to being prepared for severe weather and have an emergency supplies kit in your home as well as in your vehicle.
