Citizens Employment and Training, Inc. Helps Seniors Find Work, Part 2

Tuesday, February 24th, 2015 -- 11:14 AM

-Citizens Employment and Training, Inc. is looking for interested parties in Clark County that would like to take advantage of their services.

Kay Radlinger, the Executive Director of Citizens Employment, explained the eligibility requirements for the program.

She said, "We're looking for anybody who's 55 or older and is currently unemployed. There is some income eligibility, so we take a look at that. SSDI does not count as income, so if you' re on SSDI we don't count that, so you'd probably still be eligible. We see a broad range of people who have been out of the workforce for, maybe, 5 or 6 years or sometime 15 years. And whatever had happened in their life has made them need that little extra boost right now. They come to use and we help them out."

Citizens has been in Clark County for almost 10 years now and they cover a wide area.

"We've been in existence in Eau Claire and Chippewa County since 1976. We've been in Barron, Clark and Taylor since 2006. And then we also took on Wood and Portage in 2008."
