Clark County Humane Society's New Volunteer Program: Pet Lovin' People

Thursday, February 19th, 2015 -- 10:48 AM

-Clark County Humane Society is excited to announce a brand new volunteer program! The new volunteer program has a great new name, Pet Lovin' People?, which represents exactly what the volunteer family at CCHS is all about.

Pet Lovin' People? has just been introduced and incorporates a new approach to volunteering. At the core of Pet Lovin' People? are volunteer teams. CCHS has redesigned volunteering by defining fifteen teams which volunteers can join. The teams cover a wide range of activities, including many different ways to help the animals at CCHS. Whether volunteers wish to work directly with the animals, help to maintain the Shelter, assist with publicity, or get involved with fundraising, there's something for everyone from anywhere. As CCHS expands its programs it has also expanded the area it serves. It doesn't matter where you are from, you are welcome to join the CCHS Volunteer Family.

Complete details about Pet Lovin' People? are available on the Shelter's website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. There you can read details about all of the teams and decide which ones sound most interesting. New volunteer sign-up is available right on the website. All new volunteers are required to attend a Volunteer Orientation program. The next Volunteer Orientation is scheduled for Monday, March 2nd, at 5:00 p.m. at CCHS. Space is limited, so new volunteers are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.

Another unique aspect of the new Pet Lovin' People? program is that teams and volunteers are encouraged to interact and connect with each other. It's always more fun to volunteer with family and friends, so volunteers are welcome to bring them along! There is also a new Facebook Group page where volunteers can share stories about volunteering at CCHS, post pictures and videos, and keep up with other volunteers. The new group page is at www.facebook.com/groups/PetLovinPeople. All currently active volunteers are encouraged to join the group page as part of the Pet Lovin People? program.

Current volunteers will automatically be part of the new volunteer program and be part of the teams that represent the work they are currently doing. However, current and new volunteers are welcome to sign up for multiple teams. While hands-on care of the animals is certainly critical for the cats and dogs' well-being, there are so many other activities going on at CCHS all of the time, and there are so many ways to utilize other talents which volunteers may be willing to share. Pet Lovin People? will now offer opportunities for volunteers to help out in ways that interest and excite them the most.

The theme for the new Pet Lovin' People? Volunteer Program is "Get Your Happy On!". Helping to make a difference for animals in need while having a good time is exactly what volunteering at CCHS is all about. Please sign up for the new volunteer program, come to our new Volunteer Orientation, and before you know it you'll be part of the CCHS Volunteer Family. Helping to provide a new future for the Shelter's cats and dogs is a great way to "Get Your Happy On"!
