Boyceville Man Charged in Clark County for Using a Computer to Facilitate a Child Sex Crime Pleads Not Guilty

-A Boyceville man facing charges here in Clark County, including using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, had two additional charges filed against him.According to the criminal complaint, a Thorp Police Officer received a report that 31-year-old Shawn Anderson was staying at the Heritage Court Motel in Thorp. The officer discovered there was a warrant out for the arrest of Anderson in Indiana. After arriving at the hotel, Anderson was discovered in a room with a 16-year-old girl.
The girl indicated that she had met Anderson on a social app and, after losing contact with him for a year, they began contacting each other again through Facebook and text messages. During this time, the man asked the girl to send a nude photo to him and he sent nude photos of himself to the girl.
The girl initially claimed that the first time she and Anderson met that had not had intercourse nor had they when she was caught with him in January. However, she later admitted that they had sex all three times they met and videos of the encounters were discovered on a cell phone as well.
Probable cause was found during a preliminary hearing on Wednesday so Anderson's court proceedings will continue. He is being charged with exposing a child to harmful material and using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime and the two new charges filed against him include possession of child pornography and child enticement, recording. Anderson did plead not guilty to all the charges filed against him and he requested a substitution of judge.
