Neillsville Woman Pleads Not Guilty to Threatening a County Judge

Wednesday, February 18th, 2015 -- 10:24 AM

-A Neillsville woman appeared in Clark County Court on Tuesday for threatening a Clark County Judge.

Lori Armbrust sent two letters to Judge Jon Counsell in December of 2013 and January of 2014. Armbrust was upset that Counsell didn't let her speak during a hearing. In the letters, she threatened to shoot and stab Judge Counsell multiple times. Armbrust was out on bond during this occurrence, also for threatening Judge Counsell, and one of the conditions of her bond was that she was not allowed to commit another crime.

Armbrust pleaded not guilty to the charges against her during her arraignment on Tuesday. Due to the connections with Clark County, the court is being presided over by Wood County Judge Nicholas Brazeau Jr., Wood County District Attorney Craig Lambert is prosecuting the case and Armbrust is being defended by Neillsville City Attorney Bonnie Wachsmuth.
