Volunteers Approved at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board started their meeting with an Audit Report from Schenck & Associates.Jon Trautman summarized the work done in his audit. Special attention is given to risk management which basically involves the procedures used to account for money. Every time money is handled (concessions, collecting dues/fees, etc.) two or more people should separately be involved in checking accuracy. This is especially true for Federal and State dollars like Title I and Special Education funds. However, this is often a tough task for small districts with limited staff.
Also, donations to the Gary Schultz Jr. Band Memorial Fund keep coming in. Marixa LaMont, Greenwood's band instructor, is exploring using these funds to purchase refurbished instruments.
The board approved the following volunteers after background checks were performed and they include Jim Arch, Christine Bottlemy, Kim Bredlau, Denis Degenhardt, Mary Degenhardt, Andrew Johnson, Brenda Learman, Melissa Nielsen and Dawn Rank.
