Public Works Items at Owen City Council Meeting

Wednesday, February 18th, 2015 -- 8:16 AM

-The Owen City Council officially approved their new Director of Public Works at their meeting last week.

Erik Stinson was the named the Public Works Director of Owen. Mr. Stinson also attended a technical seminar hosted by Contech Engineered Solutions for all Clark County Public Works Departments. The program included bridge installations and culvert installation.

The council heard the public works report from Erik Stinson that evening as well. He said the new 2007 IH Truck is done and the sides are built with no back gate and have a hydraulic lift. The culverts are in on Willow Road and the road is open. The new Case loader should be delivered to the dealership next week and have the plows installed. Xcel is renting land by the Owen garage and there was a water leak at a trailer home but the break was after the meter.

Finally, the council approved Brad Gokey to attend a Wastewater Regional Meeting in Black River Falls. And there were more questions about the old police door. City Clerk Terri Ernst reported that the police door has been disposed of and Chief Schade said it was hauled away and properly disposed of. Another question was asked about City Hall office doors and windows and if they are secure or not.
