Tuesday, February 17th, 2015 -- 1:04 PM
-The Neillsville Chamber of Commerce recently held their Recognition Banquet at the Neillsville American Legion. The final winner of the Anniversary Honors was Bookkeeping Plus, Inc. for 25 years in business. Dr. Greg Foster, the awards presenter for the evening, explained the history of the business.
He said, "Jane Emling started Bookkeeping Plus in Marshfield with a door laid on top of three short file cabinets for a desk and one computer. That one computer cost more than 5 computers would today. Jane moved to Neillsville in 1993 and drove to the Marshfield office each day. With her background in corporate accounting for manufacturing, Jane's initial goal was to provide accounting services to businesses. Since then, Bookkeeping Plus has expanded to provide payroll as well as fiscal agent and income tax services."
Jane Emling, thanked her staff and ended her speech with a little reminder.
She said, "If you enjoy what you're doing, time flies. And even though it's only been 25 years, its been fun. And in closing, 65 more days until April 15th!"
Besides the award presentations, there was entertainment by the Clark County Male Chorus and a delicious meal.
