Loyal Girls Finish Conference Season Unbeaten

The Loyal Greyhound girls basketball team finished the Eastern Cloverbelt Conference season 16-0 after a 59-37 win over Owen-Withee on Senior Night, Monday night in Loyal.Loyal was in control from the beginning getting out to a 19-7 first quarter lead, led by Jaelynn Young with 7 points.
The Greyhounds kept the pressure on in the second quarter outscoring Owen-Withee 20-8, to lead 39-15 at the half. Devyn Schoonover had 7 points in the second quarter to lead the Hounds.
In the second half, Owen-Withee outscored Loyal 22-20, led by Stephany Heggemeier's 10 points, but the first half deficit was too much to overcome.
Heggemeier led all scorers with 17, Young led the Hounds with 14.
The Loyal girls will now play in their first ever Cloverbelt Conference championship vs. Fall Creek on Saturday night in Neillsville.
