Clark County No Longer Requiring Masks at County Facilities With Some Exceptions
Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 -- 10:01 AM
Clark County continues to work through issues and concerns regarding the Coronavirus response.
As we move through this response our first priority is to protect the health, safety and well-being of all residents and visitors. On Wednesday, March 31st, the Wisconsin Supreme Court issued a ruling striking down Governor Evers’ Public Health Emergency related to COVID-19 and a corresponding statewide mask mandate.
Effective Monday, April 5th, face coverings will no longer be required while present in County facilities. This does not pertain to the Clark County Rehab & Living Center in Owen or the Clark County Circuit Court and associated offices on the 4th Floor of the Clark County Courthouse where face coverings are still required.
It is still the recommendation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Department of Health Services, and the Clark County Health Department, to follow all COVID-19 precautions.
This would include the wearing of face coverings (as able) when in a public setting, enclosed space, or anytime there is close contact to another person outside of your household. Clark County is requesting the public’s assistance to help contain the spread of the current pandemic.
The public should avoid non-essential visits to county offices and facilities including the Courthouse, Highway Department, and Adult Development Services.
Please use alternate means of communicating with county agencies such as telephone, email, U.S Mail, etc. to conduct business where possible. Questions related to changes in service and methods of contact should be directed by telephone to the agency/office you need to make contact with.
This is a challenging time for everyone. Cooperation with these guidelines is appreciated. Providing essential services while doing what we can to help limit the spread of COVID-19 is a priority.
Again, for any questions you have please call the Administrative Coordinator at 715-743-5150 or the department you wish to contact. If you have questions about services we encourage you to call the agency/office you need to contact.
