Owen-Withee School Board Discusses Bids, Policy and More

Sunday, February 15th, 2015 -- 6:51 AM

-The Owen-Withee School Board had to table a couple items at their meeting on Monday.

The Policy Committee was unable to meet prior to the board meeting due to scheduling conflicts so the 800 series was not voted on. The 800 series will be brought to the March meeting for the first reading.

The board also tabled the 2015 Lawn Care Bids. Eight vendors bid on the lawn care services for 2015. The bids ranged from $249 to $925 per cutting. Because of the range of bids, the board has tabled this item until the March meeting to give Bob Houts time to contact the bidders, get references and make contact with those references.

Finally, the board discussed the iPad/Laptop lease renewal. The three year lease on the iPads and laptops that the district uses for the 1:1 program, with student in grades 5-12, comes to an end in June. Julie Kodl, District Technology Director has been working with the Technology Committee and surveying staff and students to get input on what direction the District wants to take for the next three years. A formal presentation will be made to the Board at the March meeting.
