Memorial Medical Center's Michael Conard Talks QuiqMeds, Part 2

-Memorial Medical Center has introduced the new QuiqMeds Program at their facilities.Michael Conard, a Certified Physician Assistant at the Loyal MMC Clinic, talked about why this system is beneficial for MMC and its patients.
He said, "It's a big convenience. Out here, in Loyal, we have no local pharmacy. So, if I want to issue a prescription for somebody who needs something, they have to be able to get to get to either Marshfield, or up to Owen or to Neillsville to the pharmacies to get it. And, frankly, for some of our elderly patients, that's a major inconvenience. And we know that, probably, 50% if not more of our prescriptions in this area weren't getting filled by patients because of the inconvenience factor."
"So, this allows us, even during the clinic day here in Loyal and over at our Greenwood clinic, to have a pharmacy available locally so that people can do that. We have it in Neillsville as well, but Neillsville will not dispense medications while the other pharmacies are open. We are not in this to compete against the local pharmacies and we really want to make that clear. This is a patient need and patient convenience response to areas where we don't have local pharmacies available to us."
The new program is designed to make things easier and more efficient for MMC's patients.
