Granton Village Board Hears Update from the Village Clerk

-The Granton Village Board heard an update from the Village Clerk at their recent meeting.
According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the clerk worked 99 hours over the two week period of elections. She stayed updated on election mandates and made sure the election staff was protected. After hours and weekend calls made to the village are forwarded to her personal phone so village calls are answered 24/7. Village residents were able to vote absentee evenings, weekends, curb side and at a residence home who is indefinitely confined. One village resident called the Wednesday before the election and stated he could only vote the Friday before the elections as he unexpectedly found himself heading out of town and unable to vote on November 3rd. Even he was able to cast a ballot. She processed 48 in-person absentee ballot requests. She hired and trained the safety coordinator to assist with the election. She worked to provide plans for sneeze guards to protect the election workers. She sent the team to the Amish to order the plexi-glass and was able to save the village a couple of hundred dollars.
She worked up in the cemetery to identify a non-existent plot and reissued deeds that were no longer valid. She worked with the Department of Revenue on Levy questions. She also updated the 2020 expenses to date and proposed the budget to the board. She attended the Library budget meeting and presented the proposed budget to the board. She reviewed the sample police contracts, worked with the PSC on the new Covid guidelines and disconnection options and started the paperwork for assessments and will complete by the end of November for the submission to the County. Finally, she began collecting the data required to complete the mill rate and complete the election Sub Grant and the We’re All In Grant Applications.
