Neillsville Chamber of Commerce Recognition Banquet, Anniversary Honors: Joan's Hair Hut, 35 Years

-The Neillsville Chamber of Commerce recently held their Recognition Banquet at the Neillsville American Legion.The next winner of the Anniversary Honors was Joan's Hair Hut for 35 years in business. Dr. Greg Foster, the awards presenter for the evening, talked about the history of the Hair Hut.
He said, "In 1964, Joan Hubing graduated from the Accredited School of Beauty Culture of Eau Claire. Following graduation, she worked at Emma's Beauty Shop in Loyal, before coming to Neillsville in April of 1965. Joan worked for Mary Ellen's Lady Fair until October of 1979 when she purchased the shop and established Joan's Hair Hut. We are grateful to her for her contributions to our organization and are proud to honor her for this milestone anniversary."
Joan thanked everyone for their support.
She said, "I want to thank the Chamber for honoring me for 35 years. It doesn't seem like that long. And I'm still working because I enjoy my work. I want to thank my family for coming tonight and all of the rest of you and my customers. So, thank you very much."
Besides the award presentations, there was entertainment by the Clark County Male Chorus and a delicious meal.
