Home Production Plants to Re-Open in Clark County, Expected to Create 150 Jobs

Wednesday, February 11th, 2015 -- 7:46 AM

(Marshfield News Herald) -Canadian American Homes Inc. has purchased and will re-open two manufactured home production plants in Clark County; a move expected to create about 150 jobs in central Wisconsin the next few years.

Dorchester-based Liberty Homes, which designed and produced manufactured homes, ceased operations in 2013 as a result of the downturn in the housing industry.

The company's assets were purchased by Canadian American Homes, which plans to re-open two plants that encompass more than 230,000 feet of space to produce manufactured and modular homes in Dorchester, according to the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.

To assist with the purchase, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. is providing a low-interest loan as part of its Business Opportunity Loan Program. Canadian American Homes is seeking job applicants for several types of positions, including production, supervision, administration and management.
