Three People Killed in Highway 13 Crash Identified

-Three people killed in a serious accident on Highway 13 between Spencer and Marshfield have been identified.According to the Marathon County Sheriff's Department, the accident happened around 5pm near Karau Avenue off Highway 13 on Wednesday. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
The crash killed 22-year-old Erasto Montes of Medford and James and Christine Saxild, both 71 of Bruce. The two men were pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was taken to the hospital suffering serious injuries. Unfortunately, she passed away from her injuries.
The southbound lanes of Highway 13 were closed for several hours while a team reconstructed the crash. They have not found an official cause yet, but they did say they didn't believe weather was a factor and the crash appeared to be head on or nearly head on.
