Neillsville Chamber of Commerce Recognition Banquet, Entrepreneur of the Year: TLC Wellness Center, LLC.

Wednesday, February 4th, 2015 -- 11:29 AM

-The Neillsville Chamber of Commerce held their Recognition Banquet at the Neillsville American Legion Saturday evening.

The winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award was TLC Wellness Center, LLC. Dr. Greg Foster, the awards presenter for the evening, talked about TLC's entrepreneur spirit.

He said, "The Entrepreneur of the Year Award focuses on an entrepreneur who focuses on a need for a product or a service in the community, the creative concept the business offers and community involvement. These descriptors embody the spirit of TLC Wellness Center. After teaming up with Davis Chiropractic for 3 years, Mya Rowe expanded her business in June of 2012, with the help of friends and family, she brought her dream of an aveda wellness center to life. The center offers a variety of massage therapy styles for both relaxation and rehabilitation, hydro therapy with whirl pool tub, energy healing therapies and lymphatic massage therapy."

When Mya first partnered with Dr. Davis, she didn't think she'd have a lot of work in Neillsville, but quickly found out she was wrong.

She said, "When I started, I teamed up with Dr. Davis in this area, but I actually worked, for a little while, in Eau Claire. When I graduated from the PhD Academy, I didn't think that I would have that much work to do in Neillsville. I just didn't think people in Neillsville were really in to massage and alternative therapies and I thought I needed to go to a bigger city. And I was so wrong. When I met Dr. Davis and was able to start working in Neillsville, I found that there was a great need in this community. So many people were traveling 30, 60, 70, 80 miles away to receive these therapies. So, I've been very glade to bring that service to this community and I'm very excited to finish my nursing and going on to the midwifing education so we can offer more services in the community."

Besides the award presentations, there was a delicious meal and entertainment by the Clark County Male Chorus.
