Owen City Council Approves the Purchase of a New Police Vehicle

-The Owen City Council approved the purchase of a new police vehicle at their recent meeting.The council approved to purchase the 2015 Ford Explorer from Courtesy Ford in Thorp. Squad reserves of $27,029.93 are being used for the purchase of the vehicle and additional equipment. The city clerk is also going to apply for a city credit card. The application was delayed a little due to concerns the mayor had.
Finally, the council heard the CDA Report from CDA Director Tim Swiggum. He said on February 5th at the Old School the Downtown Revitalization Committee will be holding a meeting at 7 pm. The public is encouraged to attend and provide input to the committee and bring new ideas and constructive suggestions in trying to revitalize the downtown and other areas of the community. The discussion about the OMI building continues. The Woodland will probably sell in February and Brian Bredlau would like to attend the Planning Commission meeting on February 11th to show his building plans to the Commission.
