Neillsville Chamber of Commerce Recognition Banquet, Business of the Year: Cougar Enterprises, Inc.

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2015 -- 12:58 PM

-The Neillsville Chamber of Commerce held their Recognition Banquet at the Neillsville American Legion Saturday evening.

The winner of the Business of the Year Award was Hardees of Neillsville under its parent company Cougar Enterprises, INC. Dr. Greg Foster, the awards presenter for the evening, talked about Hardees' commitment to the community.

Dr. Foster said, "Cougar Enterprises was opened in November of 1987 by Al and Mary Williams of Medford. Since day 1, the Hardees of Neillsville ownership has felt strongly compelled to do whatever it could to assist various clubs, churches and community organizations with improving the Neillsville area including holding fundraisers for groups, such as The Highground, to meet their financial goals. Dave Droste, who has as served as Director of Operations at Cougar Enterprises since 2002, purchased the company from Al and Mary Williams in January of 2013 and carries on the long tradition of giving back to the community whenever possible."

When Dave Droste first found out they received the award, he, humbly, had to think about why they were chosen before coming up with an answer.

Dave said, "I thought to myself, you know, we do do a lot for the community. Our whole culture of giving back to the community is certainly part of that reason. Whenever we can, we try and do what we can for the community. I guess I just want to leave you with that idea. Think about different ways you can help the community and do what you can. Thank you for the award because we really appreciate it and we want to be a big part of the community and whatever we can do to help, we will."

Besides the award presentations, there was a delicious meal and entertainment by the Clark County Male Chorus.
