Sunday, February 1st, 2015 -- 9:57 AM
The Clark County Aging Department is completing Homestead credit applications and fuel assistance, if you have not filed yet, at the various Nutrition Centers in Clark County. This service is for folks age 60 and older. If a senior citizen needs assistance with completing simple income taxes, they also have AARP Tax Volunteers assisting them. You must call the Aging Office to schedule an appointment.
The Homestead Credit is available to assist people in meeting the rising cost of property taxes and rental payments. The amount of Homestead Credit received by an individual is determined by mathematical computation of taxes or rental costs versus gross income. Please bring all verification of income with you when you apply as well as a copy of your property tax bill or completed rent certificate.
