Merillan Man Hospitalized After Being Hit by Drunk Driver

-A Merillan man was hospitalized after being hit by a drunk driver on Tuesday evening.According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, the accident happened around 9pm on U.S. Highway 12/27 near the westbound ramp of I-94.
The department said that 26-year-old Dean Brown was walking home from work when he was struck by 52-year-old Joseph Cholka of Black River Falls. Brown had injuries to his face, mouth and leg.
Cholka was arrested and charged for his 5th OWI. He was also charged with bail jumping and operating after revocation.
