-A Neillsville woman had a preliminary hearing in Clark County Court on Tuesday for threatening a Clark County Judge.During the preliminary hearing, it was established that Lori Armbrust sent two letters to Judge Jon Counsell in December of 2013 and January of 2014. Armbrust was upset that Counsell didn't let her speak during a hearing. In the letters, she threatened to shoot Judge Counsell 40 times in the back of the head and stab him over 200 times. She also stated she'd throw his body in the Mississippi River.
Armbrust was out on bond during this occurrence, also for threatening Judge Counsell, and one of the conditions of her bond was that she was not allowed to commit another crime. It was also established that Armbrust was in a mental health facility when she sent the letters.
In the end, probable cause was found and her $5,000 bond was continued. Due to the connections with Clark County, the court is being presided over by Wood County Judge Nicholas Brazeau Jr., Wood County District Attorney Craig Lambert is prosecuting the case and Armbrust is being defended by Neillsville City Attorney Bonnie Wachsmuth.
