Clark County Board of Supervisors Approve Selling County Land

Monday, January 26th, 2015 -- 8:18 AM

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved the sale of some county forest land and approved withdrawing it from County Forest Crop Law.

The land in question is located next to some privately owned land and it was discovered that the owners of the land are currently occupying and using the adjoining county land. This is not their fault, however, as it was explained that the land was originally split into two 40 acre plots with the county taking 40 and the private owners taking the other 40.

Over the years, the privately owned land was sold to various people until it fell into the hands of the current owners. A fence line was put down when it was first purchased, but it was never officially measured and evolving technology has determined that the current owners are on county land.

So, to remedy the situation, the county approved selling 3 acres of the land to the private owners for $6,600 plus recording fees. The land will also be removed from the County Forest Crop Law.
