Clark County Board of Supervisors Approves Smoke Free Policy for the Employee Handbook

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved a handful of resolutions at their meeting Thursday evening.The board approved appointing Joe Waichulis to the Fair Liaison Committee. Joe will replace Jeff Kolzow as Jeff is now on the Fair Board and can't be on the committee as well. The board also approved a resolution sending condolences to the family of Robert Rogstad. He was a former board member and passed away recently.
The board also approved a resolution adding a smoke free policy to the Clark County Employee Handbook. The county already has an ordinance regarding smoking, but it doesn't apply specifically to the employees of the county. This change came about because the county felt that it wasn't right to ask citizens to walk through doors where county employees are allowed to smoke.
An amendment was made to the resolution, stating that the Public Property Committee would put up No Smoking signs at the entrances where people currently smoke. The original wording didn't include anyone taking care of the project.
