Even with the Changes, Neillsville's Police Department is in Good Shape, Part 2

Thursday, January 22nd, 2015 -- 2:43 PM

-The Neillsville Police Department has experienced a few changes the past several months, but the transition has been smooth and they continue to offer great services to the Neillsville Community.

Along with the hiring of Jason King as a new officer for the department, Chief Scott Klueckmann also promoted his officers to new positions that he held throughout his years at the Neillsville Police Department.

Chief Klueckmann said, "Our Field Training Program allows us to accelerate an officer like Jason King through quicker. He was basically a transition from another department. He had been working already, almost on a full time basis, for the Sheriff's Department. It was just a matter of getting him use to the way we do things here. I didn't have to train a whole lot."

"Aaron Bembnister has been promoted to the Field Training Officer Position which I held since 2002. With my new duties, I'm not able to do both the Chief of Police work and the field training so Officer Bembnister has taken that over and Jason King was his first trainee. That's worked out really well."

"I was also the Property Room Manager and Evidence Room Officer and Jacob Aumann is now holding that position. Again, I'm not able to do all of those things with my current duties as chief. It's a good way for these officers to accept ownership with something important with the department. I find the Field Training Program, above all, to be the most important program in our department because it's training new officers that serve our community and there's nothing more important than that."

The department has several new initiatives they hope to implement in the New Year.
