Clark County Schools Forum Brings Awareness to Issues Plaquing Public Education, Part 2

Thursday, January 22nd, 2015 -- 2:32 PM

-The Clark County Schools Forum continues to focus on their goals and make a positive impact on public education.

Deanna Heiman, Clerk of the Neillsville School Board, talked about some of the items the forum has accomplished to meet their SMART Goals. One of those items is a letter to our area's representatives regarding school funding.

Deanna said, "The public, as well as our legislators, are inundated with information on issues related to education and unfortunately not all of that information may be accurate. As advocates for education, school board members and superintendents want to ensure that everyone understands how existing laws and proposed legislation affect students in our local schools, but with resources stretched tighter than ever, we may not always have the time to get the word out on our own."

"So, the Clark County Schools Forum group has begun to distribute a number of press releases, letters and board resolutions on critical topics that can be shared across the state with other districts and education advocates. These communication pieces can be personalized to reflect a specific district's concerns and then shared with legislators and local media."

The next Clark County Schools Forum is being held on March 9th in Colby and the public is invited to attend.
