Owen-Withee School Board Approves Putting Lawn Services Out to Bid

-The Owen-Withee School Board approved putting their lawn services out to bid.The Board unanimously approved putting the lawn care services out to bid for this spring. The District last did this 3 years ago and the board felt it was time to get new bids on the service.
Also, the Thorp School District invited the Owen-Withee board to sit in on a presentation done by the Wisconsin Association of School Boards on what are the roles and responsibilities of local school boards. Rick Eloranta attended and felt the presentation was well done and pertinent to school boards in the area.
Finally, Rick Eloranta attended this group of area school board members who get together to discuss issues common to the districts on Clark County. The main goal of the group for this year is to communicate with legislators on education related issues. The recent meeting focused on creating letters to legislators asking that they support rural schools and their efforts. The Owen-Withee School District stated they are a little ahead of the group as they have already contacted the legislators and asked for their support.
