-The Clark County Schools Forum continues to focus on their goals and make a positive impact on public education.Deanna Heiman, Clerk of the Neillsville Board, explained the history and purpose of the forum.
Deanna said, "We began holding Clark County Schools Forums in July of 2010 as a chance to network with peers and expand our knowledge on educational topics, but as time has passed the group has become more focused on identifying ways to make a positive impact on public education."
The Clark County Schools Forum created SMART Goals to try and achieve to help public education in Central Wisconsin. Deanna explained the progress and history of the goals in more detail.
"On August 15th, 2012, the group formally adopted SMART Goals and the letters in the word SMART stand for specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound," said Deanna. "In a nutshell, we wanted the goals to be realistic and attainable; not just pie in the sky. In the spring of 2013, we accomplished a large scale goal by hosting the Clark County Education Summit in Greenwood. This past year, we focused on adopting a common calendar among groups of districts, as well as developing a communication plan. At the end of 2014, we revisited the list of goals and determined that our priorities for the upcoming year lie in the areas of communication and legislative advocacy"
The next Clark County Schools Forum is being held on March 9th in Colby and the public is invited to attend.
