Owen City Council Hears Public Works Report

-The Owen City Council heard the public works report at their recent meeting.During the report it was stated that the walking trail behind Creekside is covered with snow, but the department did clear off the Creekside parking lot. It was stated that it would be nice to be able to walk the trail as it is a year round trail. Work will be done on the issue for next winter's snowfall.
There was a complaint about snow banks piled in front of mailboxes after the streets are cleared. The City tries to avoid this but they will drive around later and try to clear any snow blocking mailboxes.
Last week there were two water main breaks, one at Kerry and one near Larson's, and 1 homeowner service line has frozen as well. Finally, the culvert project needs to be completed by April 1st and the project will begin soon.
The board also approved some budget amendments including amending the 2014 budget for the Enbridge Grant for the Police Department, amending the 2014 budget for the WDOT grant for the Police Department, approved Fund Balances retroactive as of 12/31/14 of $126,914.78, amended the 2015 Budget for the Willow Road Culvert Project and approved the 4th Quarter Overtime Report for 2014.
