Owen-Withee School Board Talks Spring Election

Wednesday, January 21st, 2015 -- 8:28 AM

-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed the spring elections for school board members.

Three seats are open for the spring election this year. Julie Wendler (Village of Withee) and Paul Heggemeier (City of Owen) are running for re-election and are unopposed.

Dee Wells (Rural) has decided not to run for re-election. Angela Greschner had filed papers to run for this rural seat. Because the district only has one candidate for each open seat, there is no need for a primary in February. These three candidates will ppear on the April ballot.

The Board reviewed and discussed the 2015-16 CESA contract. Because the contract included some steep increases in the cost of some services the District has purchased in the past, approval was tabled until the February meeting so that questions could be answered and possible reductions could be made.
