Owen-Withee School Board Approves Letters to Representatives in Madison

-The Owen-Withee School Board approved the letters their sending to Central Wisconsin's representatives in Madison at their recent meeting.The board approved the letters that are to be sent to the three assembly persons and the two senators who represent district residents in Madison. The letters ask that our legislators represent the needs and wishes of the people they represent on educational finance issues. The board also had the first reading of policy 460-Rule 2 which is the Selection Procedures for the Wisconsin Technical Education Scholarship. The board needs to approve a policy that provides the rules and procedures for students to be eligible for a state grant to the Technical College System. The TES scholarship provides a $2250 scholarship for up to three years for one student in each graduating class. This first reading will be followed up with the 2nd reading in February, at which time it will become official district policy.
