Neillsville School Board Approves Shared Space Agreement
Friday, January 16th, 2015 -- 11:05 AM
-The Neillsville School Board approved a shared space agreement with the Clark County Community Services and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. This agreement will allow the two entities to use space at the school for counseling purposes for grades K4-12 beginning February 1st. The school counselors will provide a referral form to parents in the district that wish to take advantage of the opportunity. The optional counseling wouldn't interfere with a student's class schedule.
A few of the board members had a slight issue with the wording of the agreement and some promotional material that made it seem like any one could come off the streets and ask for counseling. The purpose of this is to provide counseling just to the students of the Neillsville School District.
It was also stated that this agreement wouldn't be for emergency situations, like a student threatening suicide, and parents would have the option to take their child to other facilities.
