Neillsville City Council Hears Committee Reports

Thursday, January 15th, 2015 -- 1:56 PM

-The Neillsville City Council heard several reports from a handful of committee meetings held within the past couple weeks.

The council heard the Personnel Committee report. At this meeting held back on December 23rd, the council approved additional language to the Neillsville Professional Police Association union contract. The language talked about a work week and hours of work for an officer. As officers work 12 hour shifts, this new language prevents them from working back to back shifts so they don't end up working 24 hours.

The council also heard the Library Board report from their meeting on January 5th. The board approved a bid of $17,990 from Russell's of Neillsville for new carpet and installation. During the regular Common Council meeting, the council approved the appointment of a new member to the Library Board.

Finally, the council heard a report from the Historic Preservation Commission meeting from January 12th. The commission decided to offer the remaining 2015 Historic Calendars to businesses around the community and some will be kept for sale at the Thirsty Book Worm for a while yet. Finally, the commission discussed guidelines for distributing the calendar money to the community and agreed to pay a $124.70 bill to Sunnybrook, LLC., for installation of two posts with plaques.
