Neillsville School Board Approves Two Out-of-State Field Trips

-The Neillsville School Board approved two out of state field trips at their meeting on Monday.Both trips were for the Neillsville FFA with the first being the rodeo on January 31st and the second was to attend a conference in June. The board did approve both trips, but the rodeo trip was a reluctant approval as the instructor did not follow district policy when asking to approve the trip.
Teachers at the district must turn in a trip request two school board meetings ahead of the trip. The advisor failed to meet the deadline and this has occurred on more than one occasion by teachers and advisors in the district. In the end, the board members let it slide, but if this continues, the board will start administering the policy to anyone who is late with a request.
The board also approved the order for the two board members up for election this spring. On the ballot you will see Rick Opelt first followed by Dewey Poeschel.
