18-Year-Old Charged in Black River Falls After Getting Drunk at His Job and Jumping Out a Window

-An 18-year-old from Black River Falls was injured after getting drunk at his job and jumping out a window.On January 6th, the Black River Falls Police Department responded to an incident at the Sand Creek Brewery. According to reports, 18-year-old Donald Halverson, an employee at the brewery, had gotten drunk during his shift. The company called his family, but Halverson slipped away stating he needed to use the bathroom. He then opened a window in the bathroom and jumped out.
He was discovered by employees in the snow, 18 feet below the window. He had apparently broken his ankles in the fall. When authorities arrived, he was still lying in the snow and the temperature was hovering around 0 with the wind chill. Halverson was transported to the Black River Falls Hospital.
When authorities followed up with Halverson and his family, he was charged with underage consumption. He was also charged with battery as he became unruly during treatment and he injured a nurse. The case has been referred to the Jackson County District Attorney.
