Local Students Win FFA Foundation SAE Grants

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The Wisconsin FFA Foundation has announced that $18,000 has been awarded to Wisconsin FFA members in Supervised Agricultural Experience program grants this month.SAE programs apply the concepts learned in the agricultural education classroom and the skills developed through FFA membership to individual experiential learning projects. Programs are classified as placement or entrepreneurship and span a broad range of agricultural careers and businesses.
The grants were awarded in four different SAE categories: aquaculture, dairy, organic agriculture and start-up grants. Successful candidates were chosen based on the level and scope of their SAE in accordance with their age, their future goals and plans for the program and financial need.
Some local winners of the grants included a $500 SAE grant to Ashley Magnuson of Neillsville and a $500 startup grant to Chelsea Stuttgen of Colby.
