Unemployment Increases in Most Wisconsin Counties

-All though most Wisconsin cities saw a decrease in unemployment rates last month, most counties saw an increase.According to the latest figures released by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, unemployment went down or stayed the same in 23 of the state's 32 largest cities.
However, unemployment numbers were up in 57 of the state's 72 counties. Pierce County had the lowest rate at 2.7% and Menominee had the highest at 10.3%.
Here in Clark County, the unemployment rate for November increased to 4.4% from October's 4%. However, it was still down compared to November of 2013's 5.7%. For our surrounding counties, Chippewa is at 4.9%, 3.9% for Eau Claire, Jackson is at 5.5%, Wood is at 5%, Marathon is at 4.4% and Taylor is at 4.8%.
Wisconsin's unemployment rate as a whole is 5.2% which is the lowest it's been since the Great Recession.
