-An Eau Claire woman was sentenced in Clark County Court earlier this month for theft and drug charges.34-year-old Stacey Stewart was charged with two counts of theft of moveable property, misdemeanors, and two counts of bail jumping, knowingly possessing meth waste, manufacturing amphetamine and purchasing pseudoephedrine for another with the intent of manufacturing meth, all felonies.
This came about when authorities were investigating 33-year-old Travis Hamm who's been charged with stealing scrap metal and possessing meth waste as well. The investigation of Hamm led authorities to Stewart who was dating Hamm at the time.
During the investigation, authorities also found trash bags filled with items that are commonly used to make methamphetamine and, when police began to look at the records of local pharmacies, they found that Stewart and Hamm were buying excessive amounts of cold medicine, empty bottles and other items related to meth production.
A plea deal was reached and Stewart pleaded no contest to two counts of theft of moveable property and bail jumping. She was sentenced to 3 years' probation, must pay restitution and owes the courts over $700.
